April 17, 2008:

• Collapsible Contents! I know the site's big, so I'm trying to find ways to make navigation easier. This time, I've implemented a Javascript-based collapsible list system for the site. Each time you go to a section header, you'll see the full hierarchy of topics in the box at the bottom, with two levels shown and the rest hidden; press the "+" buttons to expand the lists and see subtopics below. This same system will also hopefully make it easier to find what you are looking for in the table of contents!

• TruthScape Skill Secrets - Herblore: I am please to announce the release of the first full section of the TruthScape Skill Secrets series, which contains everything you need to know about the Herblore skill. "Ho hum, another skill guide" you say? Well, this is not like the guides you've seen in other places! Its over 100 pages and nearly 100 figures cover not just the basics but all the details about how to suceeed in the skill. Within its many sections you'll find:

  • An overview of the skill, including reasons to train it and an analysis of its economic status.

  • A set of skill, quest and other recommendations for success.

  • Comprehensive listings of herbs, seconds and other materials.

March 31, 2008:

• Status Update on Site: I have been extremely busy for the last month working on a major piece of content for the site, which I anticipate releasing in mid-April. This is why you haven't seen much from me other than keeping up with TWIRP. I promise you will very much enjoy what I have for you; it's just been taking a long time
  
  I realize that much of the main part of the site is still out of date due to changes in the game that make most types of item scamming obsolete. I chose to wait until the game stabilized before dealing with this; it now has, and I'll be doing a big rewrite soon.
  
  I will also be updating the section on using Summoning familiars to reflect the new ways they now work, as soon as I can. Thanks for your patience.

March 4, 2008:

• TruthScape Minigame Secrets - Vinesweeper: I'm happy to announce the launch of another new part of the site today: TruthScape Minigame Secrets. This is, of course, where I will be placing any and all guides that I write about RuneScape minigames.
  
  The first entry in this new section is an extensive guide to RuneScape's newest minigame, Vinesweeper. With over two dozen pages and a full 50 diagrams and screenshots, this guide shows you everything you need to know to get the most of this great new way to get Farming XP and seeds. That includes step by step explanations of how to quickly find and flag seeds to get lots of Vinesweeper points, without wasting money on lost flags or wasting time inspecting holes. • The TruthScape Soapbox - Issue #11 - Please Don’t Resent My Toilet: No reasonable person would suggest that we should do without modern conveniences just because our great-grandparents didn’t have them, yet this is the attitude that some older and higher-level RuneScape players appear to have. This time the issue is the new, revised Farming minigame Vinesweeper; now that Jagex has updated it so that it’s actually worth playing, all the usual stuff about skills being “ruined” and so forth is starting again. In this article, I’ll show you why it’s a load of nonsense.

Febuary 21, 2008:

• Summoning Guide Minor Update: I made a few minor fixes to the newly released Summoning subguide, Understanding, Using and Benefiting From Familiars.

• Summoning Guide Plan Changes: As I said yesterday, I decided to change the part of my Summoning guide that I worked on based on my expectation that Jagex was revamping the Summoning skill. Well, not 24 hours later, Jagex published a status update that discusses Summoning, in part. I give the company very high marks for providing us with the sort of communication we've been requesting. At the same time, this report indicates to me that even more substantial changes than I expected are on the way.
  
  Accordingly, I have decided to hold off on further writing related to Summoning until the skill is fully revised and released. I apologize to any who were looking for more guides to specific familiars, but the amount of time it takes to test them to the level of quality I demand (and you expect) is not warranted if the familiars are all going to change soon, which is quite possible. In the meantime, I hope what I have written so far helps you get the most of your familiars until that update comes out.

Febuary 20, 2008:

• TruthScape Skill Secrets - Summoning (First Installment): If you've been wondering what I've been doing for the last few weeks and why there haven't been too many updates, here's your answer. :) I am pleased to launch TruthScape Skill Secrets, a new part of the site; its first entry is a guide to RuneScape's newest skill, Summoning.
  
  Since the skill is still being developed and revised by Jagex, I made the decision to focus on only one part of what eventually will be a comprehensive guide to the entire skill. The first installment is called Understanding, Using and Benefiting From Familiars, and will tell you all about how the actually use those pouches and scrolls you've been making for the last month or so. Included is a very complete, detailed guide to 10 familiars, with more to come over the next week or two, and about 50 full-color screenshots and illustrations. Enjoy! :)
