TruthScape Monster Secrets - Dark Beast Slaying Guide Of all the high-level, high-profile monsters in RuneScape, dark beasts are probably one of the most rarely fought. Ask any experienced player and theyll tell you why: you need a very high Slayer level (90), they are difficult to kill, and they have a reputation for having mediocre drops. If thats true, why did I choose to write a guide to killing the dark beasts then? The short answer I might give is the same one given by Sir Edmund Hillary, who when asked why he wanted to climb Mount Everest, famously replied: because it was there. Dark beasts are difficult monsters, to be sure, and they arent the best in terms of training XP or making money. But they are monsters that only a few who have commited themselves to hundreds of hours of hard work have the right to battle. And I love the challenge presented when anyone says that a monster cant be fought efficiently. So, when I recently hit level 90 Slayer myself, I decided to see what I could figure out in terms of fighting these creatures, and this guide is the result. Within it you will find everything you need to know in order to become a dark beast expert! I start by introducing these monsters, explaining the prerequisites for fighting them and the advantages and disadvantages of doing so. I describe their stats, attacks and defence, and show you their possible drops. I discuss the challenges and strategy issues in fighting the beasts, show you where they are and where I recommend you engage them. I then provide a detailed examination of two similar, but subtly different, recommended combat techniques. NOTE: Dark beasts are dangerous monsters. Dont go into their area unless properly prepared.
