TruthScape Minigame Secrets - Vinesweeper Published: March 4, 2008
Farming has always been one of the most controversial skills in RuneScape. Players tend not to sit on the fence with this skillthey either love it or hate it, and the majority seems to be in the latter category. Of course, many people hate Farming because they dont understand it, which leads to the classic problem of players standing around watching their crops grow. But even those players who know better often find it a tedious and dull skill to train. Jagex has tried many ways to address this problem, mostly through minor tweaks and enhancements that improve the skill in subtle ways. But even though enhancements like the amulet of nature, enchanted secateurs and the wild jade vine have helped a little, the general nature of the skill hasnt changed. It still always amounts to treat the soil, plant the seed, come back later and harvest, then repeat, which a lot of folks simply find sleep-inducing. Well, everything changed on February 19, 2008, when Jagex introduced the first Farming-specific minigame: Vinesweeper. As the name suggests, this is a take-off on the old computer game Minesweeper, only it takes place in a three-dimensional farmers field instead of a flat computer window. The game lets you earn XP or seeds while playing a fun game, and it is designed to be not just multiplayer but cooperative. A lot of people know how to play Minesweeper, but it seems that many more do not. In the first couple of hours that I spent playing this new minigame, I realized that many players were quite confused about how to play it properly, so I decided to write this guide. In it you will find everything you need to know about what Vinesweeper is, how to play it, and what the best strategies and methods are for getting points quickly. Ive also included a quick guide that summarizes the information for those who dont want to read the full explanation. I hope you find it helpful. J
