Minigames are essentially “games within a game”: self-contained activities within the larger game we call RuneScape. There are now over 30 minigames, which range in popularity from nearly ignored to frequently packed, depending on how appealing the games are and how good the rewards they provide. Many RuneScape players really like particular minigames, usually for at least one of three primary reasons: some are a good way to train skills and get XP; some provide good or even unique items; and some are just fun to play.

As with the other “Secrets” guides on this site, the TruthScape Minigame Secrets series goes beyond the simple “here’s what you do” handbooks you’ll find in other places. In writing up a minigame, I don’t just learn the basics of how it works—I spend many hours discovering all of its ins and outs. I then tell you how you can have fun and get XP and rewards more quickly, while avoiding common pitfalls and annoyances.

The first guide in this new series provides extensive coverage of RuneScape’s latest minigame, Vinesweeper. This ground-breaking (ha ha) minigame allows you to play a fun game to earn Farming XP or seeds, supplementing your routine Farming activities. I show you how to get started, how to play, the best ways to gain points efficiently, and what some of the strategy tradeoffs are. I hope you really dig it! (Ahem, sorry. J)

Note: I actually have already documented one other RuneScape feature that is considered a minigame, in my Ultimate Power Barrows guide. I put this in the TruthScape Monster Secrets section because it is really nearly entirely oriented around NPC combat, but may move it here sometime in the future.
