[ L8er: Later.

[ Lag: Delays, skipping or stuttering in character movement or gameplay, caused by Internet congestion, use of a slow computer, or overloading of RuneScape servers. Often blamed for problems ranging from character death to delays in completing a trade.

[ Lawl: Variation of LOL (Laugh out loud).

[ Laws: Law runes. Runes used mainly for teleport spells.

[ Large: Full helmet.

[ Legs: Plate leg armor.

[ Leet / Leetspeak: A form of jargon where letters are replaced with numbers that look superficially like them; “leet” is a modification of “elite”. This originated with the hacker community and is now very popular in online games, especially among players who think it makes them “look cool”. Examples include n00b (instead of noob), r4ng3r (ranger) and 1337 (for the word leet itself).

[ Lessers: Lesser demons. A medium-level monster popular for training.

[ Level: Often used when asking someone their level in a skill; for example, “wc lvl?” or “wc level?” means “what is your woodcutting level?”

[ Level 3: The combat level of all new players when they start the game. A level 3 player is either new, or may be a pure skiller who raises only non-combat skills.

[ Limp: Limpwurt root. An important component in several potions made using the Herblore skill.

[ Lobbies: Lobsters.

[ Lobster: One of the most popular and common food items in RuneScape; they heal 12.

[ LOL: Laugh out loud.

[ Long: 1. Longsword. 2. Longbow.

[ LTNS: Long time no see.

[ Loop / Loop Half: One of the two halves of a crystal key. Also see teeth half.

[ Lumbridge: A smallish town in the southern part of the free world of RuneScape. Its main claim to fame is that it is where new players start out, as well as being the default respawn location after a character dies.

[ Lumby: Lumbridge.

[ Lvl: Level.
