The TruthScape Glossary of RuneScape Terms and Slang - A

[ Abby: Abyssal demon.

[ Abyssal: Abyssal demon.

[ Abyssal Whip: A high-speed, high-strength slashing weapon that is a mainstay of high level players; often just called a “whip”.

[ Abyssal Demon: A well-known high-level Slayer monster best known for occasionally dropping the abyssal whip when killed.

[ Adamant / Adamantite: A green metal, second highest in terms of level and cost of the regular RuneScape metals (below rune and above mithril). Used to make armor, weapons, arrows and so forth.

[ Addy: Adamant.

[ AFAIK: As far as I know.

[ AFAIC: As far as I’m concerned.

[ AFK: Away from keyboard.

[ AFK Training: Away from keyboard training. This refers to a practice whereby players attempt to raise skills or kill monsters while actually engaging in other activities, either on or off the computer. Certain types of AFK activities are allowed by Jagex, while others are considered against the rules.

[ Agility: A members-only skill that allows players to access certain areas of the game more easily and regain run energy more quickly.

[ AGS: Armadyl Godsword.

[ Ah: Ahrims. One of the six Barrows armor sets.

[ AKA: Also known as.

[ Alch: Alchemy. This usually refers to the High Alchemy spell, which is used to transmute items into their equivalent value in gold pieces. It is often used as a verb; “alching a sword” means casting High Alchemy on it to get its value in coins. (There is also a Low Alchemy spell used by lower level players.)

[ Amulet of Glory: An enchanted dragonstone amulet. Arguably the most popular amulet in the members version of RuneScape, it provides good offensive and slight defensive bonuses, and when charged, also offers several teleports.

[ Ardougne: A major town in the western part of RuneScape; members only. The pronunciation of the name seems to be somewhat controversial; I use “ar-doon”.

[ Airs: Air runes. One of the basic elemental runes; used for combat, teleport and other spells.

[ Ammy: Amulet.

[ Ancient Magicks: An alternative set of spells that is accessed after completing a difficult quest called Desert Treasure. Players who choose to use Ancient Magicks gain a set of powerful combat spells and teleports that are useful for player killing, at the cost of losing access to their usual “normal” spells.

[ Ancients: Ancient Magicks.

[ Anti: Antipoison potion.

[ Ardy: Ardougne.

[ Army: Armadyl. One of the four gods in the God Wars Dungeon.

[ Armadyl Godsword: A godsword made by attaching an Armadyl hilt to a godsword blade. Its special attack increases damage by 25%. Abbreviated AGS.

[ Armadyl Hilt: A godsword hilt that is attached to a godsword blade to make the Armadyl godsword.

[ ASAP: As soon as possible.

[ Astrals: Astral runes. Special runes used only for Lunar Magicks.

[ ATM: At the moment.

[ Att: Attack level. See Attack.

[ ATTM: At the moment.

[ Attack: One of the basic melee combat skills; its level determines how likely the character is to score a hit on an opponent.

[ Axe: Woodcutting axe (hatchet). Note that when used by itself it almost always refers to a woodcutting axe or hatchet, not a battleaxe or a pickaxe.
