Analysis

So what’s the deal with teak and oak logs? There seems to be some sudden interest in training the Construction skill, but it beats me as to why. It’s not likely to be a result of market manipulation, though I suppose that’s possible. I’m amused to see strawberry baskets on the rise again (as I’ve long considered them an undervalued healing item); butter goes up by double digits every week; and rune knives may finally be getting close to returning to their former higher prices.

On the loser’s list, hey look, it’s super weapon poison. Big surprise, right? Well, not if you follow TWIRP. J I reported a couple of weeks ago that the run-up in poison prices was due to players exploiting price flaws in the Grand Exchange; this week Jagex corrected them, and so the sell-off began. I’m disappointed to see seeds dominating the losing list again, as their prices had already gone way, way down earlier this year before recovering (temporarily, it would seem.)

Farming benefited from the drop in seed prices, and the related skill of Herblore did okay as well; beyond that, it’s hard to find much good news in terms of indexes. Construction affordability dropped a staggering 10.1% due to the big jumps in oak and teak log prices, while herbs and gems both saw fairly significant value drops this week.
