Synopsis of Price and Economic Trends

Yet another very quiet week in the economy.. could this be a new trend? Perhaps all of the ripple effects resulting from the dramatic game changes and the introduction of Summoning are starting to die down.

The overall TWIRP index remained at a historic low level of 93.6, unchanged from the week before. This did not mean there were no changes in prices, of course, and in fact, we can see that this resulted from offsetting losses and gains in the skilling and combat indexes respectively. Skilling’s decline continues a recent trend, while combat’s rise is perhaps a temporary reversal.

Key item affordability went down again this week, and its 91.9 value is the lowest since TWIRP started. This, combined with the overall income index hitting 101.8 while affordability reached 91.9 confirms overall inflationary pressures within the game. This is also seen in the larger number of advancing than declining items.

As predicted, the month has been rather ho-hum in terms of updates, especially as relates to the markets. The game itself is also somewhat quiet due to the arrival of spring in the northern hemisphere, as well as exam time for students.
