TWIRP Composite and Player Profile Indexes Report and Analysis (2008/03/03)

In this subsection I describe the results of the highest-level TWIRP composite indexes, as well as the player profiles that illustrate the impact of item price changes on different player types. For more details on these indexes, please see TWIRP Composite Indexes and TWIRP Player Profile Indexes; if you are not familiar with TWIRP as a whole, please refer to the TWIRP Quick Guide before proceeding.

Composite Indexes

Global Composite Yield (TWIRP): 96.4 +0.8% p
Global Composite Affordability (TWIRPa): 99.3 +1.9% p
Global Composite Income (TWIRPi): 97.0 -1.1% q

Skill Composite Yield (TWIRP-S): 98.8 -1.7% q
Combat Composite Yield (TWIRP-C): 93.3 +2.4% p

As indicated in the overview, this was a week of corrections, which you can see as obvious “bounces” in the chart above. Combat rebounded from big hits, while skilling dropped. Note that even though global affordability improved, income dropped—this is the result of the across-the-board drops in most prices.

Player Profile Indexes

Pure Skiller Profile Yield (TWIRP-P-SKILy): 99.0 -1.4% q
PvM Profile Yield (TWIRP-P-PVMy): 93.3 +2.6% p
PvP Profile Affordability (TWIRP-P-PVPa): 100.2 +3.1% p
Balanced Profile Yield (TWIRP-P-BALy): 96.5 +0.5% p

More “bounces” here, with skillers giving back recent gains while PvP and PvM rebounded. PvP once again did better than PvM, relatively speaking, because the value of monster drops continues to decrease.
