TWIRP Composite and Player Profile Indexes Report and Analysis (2008/01/28)

In this subsection I describe the results of the highest-level TWIRP composite indexes, as well as the player profiles that illustrate the impact of item price changes on different player types. For more details on these indexes, please see TWIRP Composite Indexes and TWIRP Player Profile Indexes; if you are not familiar with TWIRP as a whole, please refer to the TWIRP Quick Guide before proceeding.

Composite Indexes

Global Composite Yield (TWIRP): 98.1 -2.8% q
Global Composite Affordability (TWIRPa): 101.5 -2.6% q
Global Composite Income (TWIRPi): 96.6 -0.2% q

Skill Composite Yield (TWIRP-S): 100.7 -1.2% q
Combat Composite Yield (TWIRP-C): 96.0 -5.1% qq

As mentioned in the overview, the big story here is a big 5.1% drop in combat affordability, due nearly entirely to competition for combat-related supplies and equipment. The price increases have been nearly across the board; food, potions and items like Barrows sets are all going up in price.

Player Profile Indexes

Pure Skiller Profile Yield (TWIRP-P-SKILy): 100.5 -1.1% q
PvM Profile Yield (TWIRP-P-PVMy): 96.2 -4.9% q
PvP Profile Affordability (TWIRP-P-PVPa): 100.5 -2.2% q
Balanced Profile Yield (TWIRP-P-BALy): 98.3 -2.7% q

Unsurprisingly, the profiles were hit hardest in direct proportion to their combat orientation. PvM players got the double whammy of higher supply costs and lower output values due to overproduction.
