TWIRP Combat and Monster Drop Value Indexes Report and Analysis (2008/05/19) On this page I examine price trends related to RuneScape combat, through a set of affordability and drop value indexes. Combat affordability measures the ability of combatants to get the gear and supplies they need, and is broken down mainly by combat style. Drop value indexes gauge the economic gain from fighting monsters, showing changes in the value of drops of different monster levels and categories of items. For further information on these indexes, please see TWIRP Combat Affordability and Drop Value Indexes; if you are not familiar with TWIRP at all, please refer to the TWIRP Quick Guide before proceeding. Food Affordability (TWIRP-C-FOODa):
75.8 +0.7% p
Affordability was mostly flat this week, and food affordability even went up a bit for a change, which is good news for combat afficianados. Monster Drop Value (Low-Level) [TWIRP-C-DROP(l)]:
99.7 -1.0% q
The trend continues: boss monster drops are steadily losing value due to too many players going for the big prizes. Some GE effects are likely involved here as well. Gem Drop Value (TWIRP-C-DROP-GEM):
99.4 -3.5% q
Drop values were lower to flat this week; herbs went down the most, though they tend to be rather volatile.
