TWIRP Combat and Monster Drop Value Indexes Report and Analysis (2008/05/12) On this page I examine price trends related to RuneScape combat, through a set of affordability and drop value indexes. Combat affordability measures the ability of combatants to get the gear and supplies they need, and is broken down mainly by combat style. Drop value indexes gauge the economic gain from fighting monsters, showing changes in the value of drops of different monster levels and categories of items. For further information on these indexes, please see TWIRP Combat Affordability and Drop Value Indexes; if you are not familiar with TWIRP at all, please refer to the TWIRP Quick Guide before proceeding. Food Affordability (TWIRP-C-FOODa):
75.2 -0.8% q
Some correction this week after the big spikes downward in affordability last week; in particular, potion prices corrected somewhat. Monster Drop Value (Low-Level) [TWIRP-C-DROP(l)]:
100.7 +0.9% p
A rather obvious trend continues to assert itself here: most drop items are increasing in value, but boss-level items are coming into the game too quickly to support price levels. Gem Drop Value (TWIRP-C-DROP-GEM):
103.1 +0.6% p
Small to moderate increases in drop values pretty much across the board this week.
