TWIRP Combat and Monster Drop Value Indexes Report and Analysis (2008/05/05) On this page I examine price trends related to RuneScape combat, through a set of affordability and drop value indexes. Combat affordability measures the ability of combatants to get the gear and supplies they need, and is broken down mainly by combat style. Drop value indexes gauge the economic gain from fighting monsters, showing changes in the value of drops of different monster levels and categories of items. For further information on these indexes, please see TWIRP Combat Affordability and Drop Value Indexes; if you are not familiar with TWIRP at all, please refer to the TWIRP Quick Guide before proceeding. Food Affordability (TWIRP-C-FOODa):
75.9 -4.4% q
Not much to say here that I havent said already: prices are on the rise. The food affordability index is now down almost a full 25% since the start of the year; potions are down close to 15%, and they are helping drag melee affordability down with them. Monster Drop Value (Low-Level) [TWIRP-C-DROP(l)]:
99.8 +1.2% p
Drop values were mostly flat, though boss monster drops continue to lag behind. Gem Drop Value (TWIRP-C-DROP-GEM):
102.5 +6.2% pp
Many of the same trends in recent weeks continued into this one. Herb seed values continue to give back their gains in the Feb-March timeframe. Gems had a big week, though I am not really sure this is anything more than normal variation.
