TWIRP Combat and Monster Drop Value Indexes Report and Analysis (2008/04/21) On this page I examine price trends related to RuneScape combat, through a set of affordability and drop value indexes. Combat affordability measures the ability of combatants to get the gear and supplies they need, and is broken down mainly by combat style. Drop value indexes gauge the economic gain from fighting monsters, showing changes in the value of drops of different monster levels and categories of items. For further information on these indexes, please see TWIRP Combat Affordability and Drop Value Indexes; if you are not familiar with TWIRP at all, please refer to the TWIRP Quick Guide before proceeding. Food Affordability (TWIRP-C-FOODa):
80.9 -2.4% q
Most of the affordability indexes drooped this week due to overall inflationary pressures on supplies, especially food. (Mirroring whats going on in the real world, ironically!) Monster Drop Value (Low-Level) [TWIRP-C-DROP(l)]:
98.8 +0.1% p
Drop values went up except for bosses, which continue to lag behind. A big part of this is due to Jagex finally starting to adjust excessively high boss drop item prices. Gem Drop Value (TWIRP-C-DROP-GEM):
96.6 +1.3% p
Not much movement in the drop value subindexes, but it would appear that the downward trend in seeds has resumed. Herbs continue to change in price by greater amounts than other indexes.
