TWIRP Combat and Monster Drop Value Indexes Report and Analysis (2008/03/31) On this page I examine price trends related to RuneScape combat, through a set of affordability and drop value indexes. Combat affordability measures the ability of combatants to get the gear and supplies they need, and is broken down mainly by combat style. Drop value indexes gauge the economic gain from fighting monsters, showing changes in the value of drops of different monster levels and categories of items. For further information on these indexes, please see TWIRP Combat Affordability and Drop Value Indexes; if you are not familiar with TWIRP at all, please refer to the TWIRP Quick Guide before proceeding. Food Affordability (TWIRP-C-FOODa):
83.3 +6.0% pp
Here we see some interesting convergence in affordability indexes. The food affordability index recovered as cooked fish prices dropped, while the previously-mentioned increases in equipment costs brought the style-specific indexes down. Monster Drop Value (Low-Level) [TWIRP-C-DROP(l)]:
98.1 +1.6% p
Big gains in the value of nearly all monster drops this week. Boss level drops also went up, but were dampered slightly by drops in Armadyl and Saradomin godsword prices, which Jagex finally allowed to float freely this week. Gem Drop Value (TWIRP-C-DROP-GEM):
94.0 +1.6% p
All drop subtypes went up as well, led by continuing, even accelerating gains in high-level herb prices. These have all but erased their losses earlier in the year. Overall herb seed prices continue to languish but are slowly inching back up.
