TWIRP Combat and Monster Drop Value Indexes Report and Analysis (2008/02/18) On this page I examine price trends related to RuneScape combat, through a set of affordability and drop value indexes. Combat affordability measures the ability of combatants to get the gear and supplies they need, and is broken down mainly by combat style. Drop value indexes gauge the economic gain from fighting monsters, showing changes in the value of drops of different monster levels and categories of items. For further information on these indexes, please see TWIRP Combat Affordability and Drop Value Indexes; if you are not familiar with TWIRP at all, please refer to the TWIRP Quick Guide before proceeding. Food Affordability (TWIRP-C-FOODa):
96.6 -3.7% q
The stable week I mentioned last time didnt last long; pretty much every category of affordability index nosedived, led by potions. Monster Drop Value (Low-Level) [TWIRP-C-DROP(l)]:
98.0 -0.5% q
I mentioned last week that I saw an interesting trend developing, with boss monster drops underperforming other categories. This week the declines in drop values were more uniform, but boss monsters continue to lag behind. My guess is that if items like godswords were allowed to trade freely, the boss index would plummet. Gem Drop Value (TWIRP-C-DROP-GEM):
93.7 -7.9% qq
Whats this? Herb drop value only changed by 2%? Well, thats a nice change. J The chart also shows quite nicely that while herb seed prices continue to drop, they do seem to at least be leveling out somewhat. Thats especially the case for high-level herb seeds, which I think may actually flatten out and start to go back up within two to three weeks (if not sooner.)
