Other Herblore Recommendations Moving beyond skill levels and quests, there are a few other areas of the game where some preparation can be quite helpful in training your Herblore skill. Many of these are minigames or similar features. Lets take a look at them. If you are interested in making barbarian mix potions, then you will need to complete at least part of the barbarian training feature (miniquest, whatever it is!) To do so, you must visit Otto Godblessed, who can instruct you in the barbarian versions of several skills: Firemaking, Fishing, Herblore and Smithing. He is located in a small house near the pool of water above Baxtorian Falls. Note that you will need at least level 15 Agility and Strength and level 48 Fishing, as mentioned under skill recommendations. Here are the steps to getting this aspect of the training done quickly:
I describe barbarian potions in more detail in their own topic. This feature is worth doing both for the reminders on safe gameplay and the rewards, but the real attraction for herblorists is the cockroach drone monsters in the dungeon. These are good herb droppers, and are particularly easy to kill for low-level players. This minigame is rather challenging, but one of its rewards is a book that enhances the Salve amulet, making its bonus +20% Attack and Strength against undead instead of +15%. This is handy for fighting aberrant spectres and banshees, both excellent herb droppers. If you want to get your own nail beast nails to make Sanfew serumrather than buying themthey can only be obtained from nail beasts encountered during these twin minigames. Earning points in the Fist of Guthix minigame allows you to earn one of four sets of special gloves that greatly increase the drop rate of certain herbs. Well, I kinda had to bring this one up. J While it is certainly possible to train Herblore without spending any money, it is much easier and more efficient when you have a bit of cash at your disposal. Even if you do not plan to powerlevel the skill, you will still want to have some gold available for the following:
Again, you dont need a ton of cash, but a little helps. For new players, Id say around 250k to spend on the skill would be very useful. Higher-level players will benefit from having moreat least 1M.
