Getting Herbs in Combat - A Look at Herb Dropping NPCs Herblore is certainly not a combat skill, but it is related to combat in two essential ways: you make potions with it that help combat, and combat is also the most popular way of getting herbs. This latter aspect is, of course, our focus in this section. I spent many hours testing the herb drop rates of dozens of monsters to figure out which are the best for herb collection, and now all of that information is yours for the reading. J This section includes a discussion of the best (primary) and second-best (secondary) monsters for herbs, as well as a look at creatures that drop specialty herbs in different proportions than other monsters, and those that provide herbs only occasionally. I also give you tips on how to use Summoning familiars to help you gather herbs effectively, provide ideas on how to decide which herbs to keep and which to drop, and even show you ways to get free Herblore XP in the dungeon. Please also be sure to see the following section, which provides detailed information on efficient combat for the five primary herb droppers in the game.
