Combining Three-Dose Potions into Four-Dose Potions Potion making usually yields 3-dose potions, but vials can hold four doses, so one option you have is to combine four 3-dose potions into three 4-dose potions. There are pros and cons to taking this step; if you decide you do want to do it, then I have a method you can use that I find is reasonably fast and keeps mouse movements and clicks to a minimum. Here are the steps I recommend following (see Figure 159 for an illustration of the key steps):
This takes around 45 seconds: yes, about the same time as it takes to make 14 potions from scratch. You can combine around 2,240 3-dose potions into 1,680 4-dose potions per hour.
Note that some players like to do this immediately after making potions, but I do not. You need a multiple of four in order for combining to work properly, whereas you normally make potions 14 at a time. This means youll have two leftover potions after each batch that youll have to take out and combine later anyway. You can do this, of course, but I prefer to just do a full inventory at once. The biggest nuisance with combining potions is accidentally either drinking one of the potions, or worse, emptying it out, while trying to select the Use option. Some players get around this by setting the game to one-button mouse mode (click the spanner/wrench to find this option.) Try this and see if you like itbut be warned that if you are used to being in two-button mode, it can be very hard to adjust to one-button mode! (I cant do it, personally. J) Most of all, try to avoid going too fast, as this is what leads to mistakes, and dumping a super restore potion on the ground is really annoying
