Acquiring Secondary Ingredients for Potions Secondary ingredients are items with magical properties that transform unfinished potions into their final versions. There are over two dozen secondary ingredients for Herblore, and they are a diverse collection of items that must be gathered in a variety of ways. Of course, most can be purchased, from the Grand Exchange, and this is usually the easiest way of getting them. But in many cases it is worth getting them in other ways, either for the satisfaction of doing the job yourself, or for the sometimes considerable amount of money youll save. This section will tell you how best to go about getting the secondary ingredients you need for making potions, herb tars and other Herblore products. I begin with a brief description of methods for getting all of the secondary ingredients. I then look at monsters that are known to provide multiple secondary ingredients, and give you some general tips that can speed up all of your gathering activitiessometimes considerably. I outline a special technique that you can use to get an effective 20% inventory space boost under certain conditions, and also provide a brief explanation of how the Creature Creation feature works. For full details on how to get the more important secondary ingredients, like limpwurt roots, red spiders eggs and chocolate dust, continue after this section to read the section discussing special methods.
